Nikolaus Pevsner wrote that the church's style is "of considerable interest to the historian. The four-petal tracery in the heads of windows is a familiar early C14 motif, but there are plenty of typically Perp panelling motifs as well, especially in the broad five-light E window, and so the church seems to have been designed at the moment of transition from Dec to Perp".
