A week previously there was a big hole near the carousel on Hyde Market SJ9494 : Carousel still going round. A week later and this is how the area looks. What will happen here next? We shall wait and see,
Cooke's Children's Carousel

The roundabout on Hyde Market was manufactured by Halsteads of Sowerby Bridge in 1897. It was established on Hyde Market in 1919 by John William (Jack) Greaves. In the 1920s he passed it to his daughter Lily and her husband Bill Cooke. It has now been in the Cooke family for three generations.
