The Liverpool Underground
The Liverpool Underground
This is the subterranean Wirral Line platform at Liverpool Lime Street station. It is part of the unidirectional loop under Liverpool city centre that is traversed by trains to and from the Wirral via the Mersey tunnel; the trains emerge from the tunnel mouth visible in the distance. The brown plastic trimmings along the platform wall are typical of the underground Merseyrail stations built or refurbished in the late 70s.
