Eastwards up the main line from South Wales to Patchway station, with Down empties
On the busy main line out of the Severn Tunnel towards Filton Junction, then east to Swindon etc., south to Bristol etc. and north to Gloucester etc. A typical Class F empties is heading for the Tunnel down the long bank, with Churchward '4200' class 2-8-0T No. 4227 (built 11/1913, withdrawn 2/65).
