Middlesbrough Riverside
Middlesbrough Riverside
The South bank of the River Tees, taken from the site of the transporter bridge. In the foreground is the wreck of the 'Tuxedo Royale',' with the home of Middlesbrough FC, 'The Riverside', in the background on the left of the picture.

The ship was launched as a car ferry ('SS Dover') in 1965. In 1977 she was renamed Earl Siward, and again in 1982 as the Sol Express. In 1993 she became the nightclub the 'Tuxedo Royale,' initially moored on the River Tyne in Newcastle and later in Middlesbrough. All that remains is a sinking wreck.
