NS3482 : The edge of the woods

taken 14 years ago, 3 km from Daligan, Argyll And Bute, Scotland

The edge of the woods
The edge of the woods
After heading uphill through the woods, following the line of a wall and fence (see NS3481 : The Three Lochs Way and NS3481 : Forestry track), the Three Lochs Way emerges onto the open Killoeter plateau at this point.

From here it heads across the moor and then follows the north-western side of the Red Burn, crossing the burn upstream of the area where it forms a deep glen (compare NS3382 : The glen of the Red Burn).

Note the drainage ditches in the background.
