The track is thought to be the line of advance used by Henry II for his foray into Wales in 1165. Nowadays, it's a narrow singletrack bridleway, whose marsh grass has been recently mown - so it's rather akin to riding a mountain bike over a very long, upturned yard brush. Weird.
