taken 14 years ago, near to Bonhill, West Dunbartonshire, Scotland

Lade outflows at Cordale Point
Lade outflows at Cordale Point
The photograph was taken from the bank of the River Leven. On the other side of the river, the structure on the left is NS3978 : Kennels and allotments. To the right is Cordale Point (NS3978 : Footpath leading around Cordale Point). On the other side of the Point, a weir forms a "skimmer", directing water into the Cordale lade ("Ritchie's Lade" – see NS3879 : Memorial to Robert Ritchie) that was used by Cordale Print Works: NS3978 : The River Leven: a skimmer. The lade had two outflows, visible in the present photograph: one at the right, the other just left of centre.
