Quaker's Hole Bird/Nature Hide
WAINSCOTE, quaker, mottled beauty and a large yellow underwing were the captives of the moth trap on Sunday morning down at the Quakers Hole site.
These ‘macro’ moths, to use the correct terminology, were just a small sample of the moths that would be present on the wetlands, and the small numbers trapped were due in part to the wet and windy Saturday night.
Paul Massey, of the E3 partnership, once again led a very informative and interesting survey, the full findings of which will be published in the Quakers Hole diary which is situated at the top of Moss House track.
This is the last supported survey of the wetlands by the Local Heritage initiative as the grant given by them to the Quakers Hole wetland site runs out at the end of this year.
