Stadhampton Watermill (2) - wheel, Stadhampton
Stadhampton Watermill (2) - wheel, Stadhampton
The mill had two pairs of stones and was powered by this metal overshot wheel in a pit. The wheel is 9 feet by 5 feet and can still be turned by using water pumped from the nearby brook. The former millpond is now dry. The wheel has 24 buckets which replaced the former wooden paddles. The wheel revolves at about 10 r.p.m. but was not working when photographed.

The mill was open as part of National Mills Weekend 2012. It is in private ownership and not normally open to the public.
