ST9300 : Water Pumping Station

taken 12 years ago, near to Sturminster Marshall, Dorset, England

Water Pumping Station
Water Pumping Station
This solid white painted building houses a pumping station for Poole. Over the doorway and on the central gateposts is the town's coloured coat of arms and a carved stone saying "Poole Waterworks 1956". Also visible behind the pumping station is the underground covered reservoir.
This gatepost is on a lane running along one side of the pumping station. The Green Lane referred to leads to a hidden away industrial yard built in a very linear fashion along the track bed of the dismantled railway line.
