Oban Lifeboat - 'Mora Edith MacDonald' (14-23)
A Trent class boat, a fast, all-weather lifeboat capable of up to 25 knots, in service since 1997. Since then has been called upon over 1500 times saving almost 100 lives. The Oban lifeboat remains permanently afloat in a sheltered, deep-water berth next to the station, alongside a slipway designed to allow casualties to be landed comfortably at any time. Ladder access enables the crew to embark safely and speedily.
