Path by Glasshouses Dam
Path number 15 58/68/1 has just passed a fish farm and now runs alongside a reservoir, with a millrace on the left. Both features relate to Glasshouses Mill, a little further downstream and formerly the largest flax-spinning mill in Nidderdale. "The reservoir, or mill pond, was built to ensure adequate water pressure for the Mill. Built in 1850, the reservoir is between the man-made Mill race and the river. It covers 5 acres and has a capacity of 10 million gallons of water." LinkExternal link
