RNLI Lifeboat station, St Annes
A new lifeboat station opened in August 2003 with the Mersey class lifeboat, launching tractor, viewing area, displays and souvenir shop.

The first lifeboat was stationed in Lytham in 1851 and a second at St Annes in 1881. SD3228 : Former Lifeboat House Five years later, the worst disaster in lifeboat history saw 27 men lose their lives during the Mexico disaster. SD3128 : Lifeboatmen Memorial The disaster led directly to Sir Charles Macara, a local man, founding the "Lifeboat Saturday" which evolved into the present day street collections. The current all weather lifeboat is housed in a new boathouse, built in 2003.
