SE0428 : Cat-i-th'well public house

taken 18 years ago, near to Wainstalls, Calderdale, England

Cat-i-th'well public house
Cat-i-th'well public house
The name of this public house means "The cat in the well". There are several different spellings in use, including "Caty Well" on Ordnance Survey maps. I have also heard it called the "Cat in t'well". The interior features wood panelling from Castle Carr which was bought at auction after the second world war.
