Lochranza to Claonaig Ferry
This is the "Loch Tarbert", one of Caledonian MacBrayne's smaller ferries. It plies the half hour crossing between Lochranza on Arran and Claonaig on Kintyre (mainland Scotland). Surprisingly this little ferry can accommodate 142 passengers and 17 cars. It is 34m long and has a top speed of 9 knots.

Caledonian MacBrayne Limited (CalMac) was formed in 1973 following the merger of the Caledonian Steam Packet Limited and David MacBrayne Limited. Ownership passed to the Secretary of State for Scotland in 1990 and is now vested with the Scottish Government.
