There are five stones, only one standing and the rest fallen. Two of the stones may not belong to the original monument as this site was called Three Stones in the C19th.

A pillbox NU0131 : Pillbox, Horton Moor visible in the field beyond the standing stone was part of a line of World War II defences between Wooler and Belford.
