Bournemouth: a wet side and a sheltered side
The canopy down the middle of the pier creates two contrasting sides. On the west (right), the timbers are getting the brunt of a downpour in a strong southwesterly wind, while the boards on the east remain dry.
A friend of mine, clearly not a fan of the Welshman, commented that you had the choice of either getting wet and windswept down one side, or being able to hear Tom Jones on the other - a tribute performer was playing on the stage just along the beach from here: see SZ0990 : Bournemouth: Jubilee celebrations go into the evening.
