Upland near the heart of the Black Mountains

Above the Grwyne Fawr valley the sun shines down on growing bracken, a Cuckoo calls down in the hollow ahead (I shortly saw him flying down the valley towards the forest) and the air is alternate wafts of cool mountain air and warm blasts of summer. Beetles crawl about, a centipede trails perilously near my boot and larks sing above.
