TQ0951 : Dorking ArchThis substantial structure, a Lovelace Bridge built in the 1860's and known as the Dorking Arch, carries a carriageway, now only used as a footpath, across Crocknorth Road. It was built to allow the passage of timber carts and no doubt Lord Lovelace's private carriages, to pass unhindered between his southern woodlands and his sawmill near to Brockholes Cross on the Epsom Road and on to Horsley Towers his Estate Residence.
