Old Dover Road, Shooters Hill
Old Dover Road, Shooters Hill
The Old Dover Road is part of Watling Street, a Roman road which linked Dover with London and beyond.

It is still an 'A' road, but is no longer the trunk route between London and Dover. That role is fulfilled by the A2 which passes about a mile south of this point, and the M2 further out into Kent.
