Old stone beside the Highland Mary Monument
This stone is located next to the base of the NS2676 : Highland Mary Monument; see that picture for context.

"This Burying Place belongs to Peter McPherson, Ship-Carpenter in Greenock, and Mary Campbell his Spouse and their children 1787."

The stone also bears the symbols of McPherson's trade, and the date 1760. For a time, Highland Mary (Margaret Campbell) stayed with her relatives, the Peter McPherson and his wife Mary who are named on this stone.
