The End of the posh end of Westbury on Trym is a tidal flooding mud reach, but then the Trym Valley is a pretty awful dumping ground with some old industrial works and cricket grounds. This could be one of the most lovely sites in this region, but it needs some Council TLC and possibly a permanent military outpost! It has similar problems to Bradford on Avon and that has some bad river works structures. Why does this country treats its rivers as open ditch? Lee River London was cleared up since 1971 in part and that was pretty terrible then.
