A night time view, looking eastwards over Manchester from the Beetham Tower (Hilton Hotel SJ8397 : Beetham Tower). The Metrolink tramway bridge is in the foreground. The road ahead, passing between the "Jurys Inn" hotel and the back of the Bridgewater Hall, is Great Bridgewater Street. The large tower block under construction is called "Student Castle" LinkExternal link. When completed, this 33-storey tower on Great Marlborough Street will be among the city’s tallest buildings, measuring 109 metres. To the left of that, the tower of the former Refuge Assurance building, now the Palace Hotel on Oxford Street (SJ8497 : Refuge Assurance Building/Palace Hotel) can also be seen.
