The filled in south aisle arches can be clearly seen behind the porch.
All Saints' church, Iden
Dates from 12th Century onwards. The tower and aisles were added in the late 12th C. Originally had a north and south aisle, but this was removed in the 16th C. presumably as it was in disrepair. The original arches were filled in with 16th C windows. The tower and aisles were added in the late 12th C. The chancel is 13th Century. Major alterations were made around 1500, the tower was heightened and the north chapel added by Sir William Scott (d 1524). Much of the glass is clear.
There is an interesting priests stall with misericord, a Spanish 17th C. Virgin & child in wood, and a 1950 painting by Feibusch of The Return of the Prodigal Son.
