Basildon Park
Basildon Park is an imposing stately home near Reading in Berkshire. Built in the 18ct it fell into disrepair between the wars until salvaged by Lord Iliffe in the 1950s. It has now been furnished as per an 18ct house but with 1950s utilities, i.e. kitchen, bathrooms etc. The name of the house was taken by the manufacturer of writing paper as a trade name !
