Galway - River Corrib Walk - St Nicholas Cathedral
The massive Cathedral of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven and St Nicholas is said to be the last stone cathedral in western Europe. It was built in 1965 on the site of a former county jail. In the foreground is a walkway to weirs in the River Corrib to the south of Salmon Weir Bridge.
