The coast path leaves the sea here and heads past the public conveniences on the right, up Smugglers' Lane in a narrow defile, to meet the A379. Until it meets the roadway, this is Dawlish Footpath 12. Rocks piles on the right bear witness to the danger of coastal erosion here.
