The remains of Cappagh's 70 foot high tower built c.1460-80 lie within an inner bawn, of which just the north and west walls survive. In 1578 Cappagh passed into the hands of Sir William Drury, later to Ullick Browne, and in 1587 to Gilbert Gerrard.
