Known also as Ballyengland, it stands alongside an C18 house on a low crag, and is currently undergoing a sympathetic restoration by its owner. The Hewsons acquired the castle from the England family when Thomas England was pardoned by the Crown in 1581 and 1590, and his son hanged and attainted.
