Castles of Munster: Clonshire, Limerick

This castle dates from at least the C16 when a wing was added to the tower containing a new entrance and spiral stair. Yet another lower wing of three storeys was added later at the other end. The castle was held by Jason Crowe in 1641, and by Captain Piggot in 1655.
