Castles of Munster: Maidstown, Limerick
Castles of Munster: Maidstown, Limerick
Just the southern half now remains of a tower whose four storey extension of c.1600-40 now predominates on this country garden site, its SW corner supported by a sloping buttress. The windows for the most part are blocked, but still retain their hood-moulds. Maidstown was held by Captain Ormsby in 1660 and later passed to the Gubbins family.
