This tall 5 storey tower is set on the usual favoured location of a rock outcrop, and is surrounded by a ditch that is all too easy to stumble into! To the north are the buried footings of a wall with two flanking turrets. The tower's entrance was in the south wall, most of which has collapsed along with much of the west wall and the corner between. The castle belonged to Lord Power in c.1640, when it was "out of repair".
