SD2293 : Old sheepfold, Stainton Ground

taken 7 years ago, near to Hoses, Cumbria, Great Britain

Old sheepfold, Stainton Ground
Old sheepfold, Stainton Ground
The wall on the right prevented the sheep from escaping over the ridge while the sinuous wall opposite directed them into the small enclosure. Once the sheep were inside they would probably be kept in by a dog or two guarding the entrance gap.
