Slapton lies midway between Kingsbridge & Dartmouth and is a half mile inland from the famous Slapton Sands. Slapton Ley Nature Reserve justifiably attracts visitors from all over the world, be it for scientific, educational or recreational purposes.
Slapton has two Public Houses, a General Store, a well equipped village hall, a church & a Chapel, the Slapton Ley Field Studies Centre and two local Camp sites.

Field Studies Council

The Field Studies Council (FSC) is an educational charity based in the UK. It opened its first Field Centre in 1947 at Flatford Mill, and now operates 17 Field Centres in various locations in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland offering both residential and non-residential field courses.
