Whitehaven Sea Lock (1)
Whitehaven Sea Lock (1)
The lock gates are closing behind a pair of boats who are waiting to access the Marina behind the photographer. Once the gates are closed water is allowed to flow in from the marina to equalise the levels of water to allow the boats to enter the marina. The sea lock was installed in 1998 to protect the town from coastal flooding and improve the marina itself for boat owners.
