Whitehaven Sea Lock (2)
Whitehaven Sea Lock (2)
A small fishing boat is tied up to a pontoon in the lock whilst water flows in from the marina on the other side of the gate to equalise water levels before the gates open and the boat can enter the marina. The sea lock was installed in 1998 to protect the town from coastal flooding and improve the marina itself for boat owners.
