taken 13 years ago, near to Garsdale Head, Cumbria, England

A milestone at Garsdale Head
A milestone at Garsdale Head
This iron, triangular column milestone, was probably cast for West Riding CC at the Liversedge foundry of Brayshaw & Booth in the late 19th century . Motorists speed past it along the A684 without a glance, but for the occasional pedestrian it still provides useful information.
