Looking across Queen's Mere
Looking across Queen's Mere
Wimbledon Common and Putney Heath are the largest area of wet heath in London and are mostly a Site of Special Scientific Interest. They are particularly noted for their extensive areas of heather. It is easy to get lost, especially in the wooded areas and only the rides and paths then indicate where you are. This was a very hot day and the shade of the trees was welcome. Queen's Mere is close to Putney Vale Cemetery and is surrounded by woodland.
