The peaks of the Brecon Beacons, which are about 5 miles distant, are reflected on this calm day.
This reservoir, which is also known as Dolygaer Lake, was constructed between 1859 and 1863 to supply Merthyr Tydfil. It covers about 40 acres and has a capacity of 346 million gallons.
