The imposing entrance to Brecknock Museum contrasts with the greenery of the surrounding countryside. The building (now Grade II* listed) is in fact the former home to the Quarter Sessions and Assizes, but was made redundant after the reorganisation of local government in 1971; the local museum took the opportunity to move in and has established a fine collection of artefacts and historical documents.
