Dromana House across the Blackwater river
Dromana House has been lived in by the same family for over 500 years. Originally the Fitzgeralds, later Villiers and now Villiers-Stuart. The house has been added to considerably over the centuries but in 1964, a large section was demolished, leaving only the 17th century building.

The small parking area in the foreground was once a quay where schooners would dock to load pit props, which were transported to Youghal and were then shipped to South Wales to be used in coal mines there.
