TM1714 : Lancaster Bomber, Clacton, Essex
taken 14 years ago, near to Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, England

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight display usually comprises the Avro Lancaster Bomber, a Hurricane and a Spitfire, though on occasions there are several Spitfires.
On this occasion as well as the Lancaster there were two Spitfires rather than one Spitfire and a Hurricane, as the Hurricane was being repaired. One of the Spitfires had four wings on the propeller and one was the later model with five wings on the propeller.

As a result of the unfortunate accidents in 2011 and the fact that the first female Red Arrows pilot left the team, the 2012 display programme comprises seven planes. However in 2013 the Red Arrows will once again perform with nine planes.
