Castle Stalker
Castle Stalker
Classic view of a much photographed castle sitting on its islet at the mouth of Loch Laich. Construction was said to have been ordered by James V in order to keep local clan chiefs under control. It came under various owners through the 17th and 18th centuries and in 1745 it was garrisoned by Hanoverian troops. By the 19th century it was a ruin, but has been restored in the last 40 years.
