TQ7076 : Salt marsh near the mouth of Cliffe Creek
taken 12 years ago, 3 km from Cliffe, Medway, England
Salt marsh near the mouth of Cliffe Creek
The Saxon Shore Way has just passed Cliffe Fort and gone through some gravel workings before this view of a salt marsh alongside the River Thames is reached. Cliffe Creek is to the right and the land beyond with the jetty is on the far side of the creek. To the left is Essex across the Thames. The Saxon Shore Way does not follow the far side of Cliffe Creek but turns inland through Cliffe Pools Nature Reserve as it follows the old Roman shoreline.
