Wheat harvesting operations (4) west of Chisbury, Wiltshire
Arable farmers in these parts are making the most of the period of anticyclonic weather to harvest what they can of their cereal crops. I'm no expert but it seems to me that the wheat here is somewhat stunted, probably as a result of the excessively wet and cold spring. News reports suggest that this year's cereal crops are down in both yield and quality meaning that a lot of it will end up as animal feed.
