The canal to Chichester goes sharp left here, at the site of the former junction on the Portsmouth and Arundel Canal, of which the Chichester arm was a branch. The main line went straight on where the boathouse and wharf are. This route was disused by 1847. The boat is on the return leg of a trip from Chichester Basin to Crosbie Bridge.
