View is to the northeast towards Main Street (N69) in the distant background behind the plane. This is a full-scale model replica built by the museum in 10 months, as none of the 12 original planes remained intact for use by the museum. Only 1 engine is shown, but 4 engines were utilized. The plane had 7 compartments to accommodate about 42 passengers; a 14-seat dining room; and 1 bed for each passenger. The plane had a crew of 11, including 2 pilots. Flights could be as long as 17 hours. These planes were utilized in the 1930s & 1940s for trans-Atlantic flights to Foynes, Ireland.
