Tankers on M6 east of junction 4
Oilseed rape is coming into flower. The hill in the distance is known locally as Packington Mountain — one of the largest, if not the largest landfill sites in Europe, situated between Birmingham, Coventry and Solihull. It is operated by SITA UK Ltd.
"In December 2011, SITA UK submitted a planning application to Warwickshire County Council for the development of an anaerobic digestion facility which would treat 50,000 tonnes of organic waste - such as food and green garden waste - at its Packington landfill site. The plans also include the development of polytunnels, which could use both heat and the compost produced at the facility."

The plans were approved in August 2012 and will go ahead in 2014 unless called in by the Secretary of State.
