SD7891 : Eastern parapet of Hard Ing Bridge

taken 7 years ago, near to Garsdale Head, Cumbria, Great Britain

Eastern parapet of Hard Ing Bridge
Eastern parapet of Hard Ing Bridge
The bridge takes the A684 over the Clough River. A benchmark was cut by the Ordnance Survey on a parapet of the bridge in 1845 as mark 58 on the 1GL levelling line from (Kirkby) Kendal to Thirsk. See LinkExternal link for details. The parapet and benchmark was probably lost to floods in the 1890s.
